Project Title:

Development of Optofluidics Devices for Aerosol Analysis

Abstract:

We are developing a range of optofluidic devices for the control and analysis of aerosols based on integrated optics. These are designed to allow microfluidic architectures to be applied to airborne particles in the same way that liquid based microfluidics is enhanced using optical trapping and interrogation techniques. We are also exploring aerosols as optofluidics devices, by turning them into laser cavities, for example.
