Project Title:

Development of new instruments for optofluidic based on fiber optics technology

Abstract:

We plan to develop new instruments for optofluidic applications. Development will based on fiber optics technology. Our group Department of Glass runs technological laboratories dedicated to design and develop various fiber-like optical microstructures as micro capillaries, hollow core fibers, microstructured fibers, nanostructured fibers made of soft glass and polymers.

Within the project we plan to develop optical tweezers in a form single mode optical fiber with various diffractive-refractive microstructure mounted at the end of the fiber. We also plan to develop a suspended core microstructured fiber with side holes to access channels near the core for optofluidic.
