Extended optofluidics with component integration
We will develop and investigate complex optofluidics systems constructed with various components. We will create microfluidics systems of different channel structures for light manipulation and combine these fluidics systems with integrated optical waveguides and electrical components. In these systems it will be possible to investigate biological objects in a complex manner: Optical manipulation will be combined with electrical manipulation and the optical and electrical responses of single microscopic objects will be used to characterise these in a complex manner. Special attention will be devoted to new nonlinear phenomena in these optoifluidics systems. In addition to fundamental research applications we will develop very sensitive biosensors for the comprehensive investigation of biological samples of extremely small quantities.
