Nonlinear optical patterning of azo-polymers and optical biosensing
We plan our works in COST Action MP1205 in two directions: (1) nonlinear optical patterning and (2) study of resonator-based optical biosensors.
In the field (1), we will work on patterning of azo-polymers by polychromatic light, inducing second order nonlinear polar holograms by all-optical poling methods. The focus would be on localized manipulation of azo-compounds and its application in nano fluidics, optical tuning of micro resonator biosensors, localized all-optical poling of nanostructures.
In the field (2), we plan study biosensors based on Silicon-on-Insulator (SOI) micro resonators ( ring and bowtie structures) and localized surface plasmon structures. The work will be directed to enhancement of surface sensing sensitivity, local trapping of nano particles by these structures and integration into micro fluidic systems.
